What is collabedit?
Collabedit is a browser based collaborative source code editor.
How do I sign up?
No sign up is required. Click the New Document link at the top of this page to get started.
How do I save my document?
Your document is automatically saved as you type. You can simple bookmark the unique url of your document.
How do I share my documents?
Simply share the url of your document via email, instant message, chat etc. Anyone who visits your url will have access to view and edit your document.
How long are documents preserved?
90 days. After 90 days your documents may be removed from the servers.
Is there a way to keep my documents private, only sharing with those I choose?
Not currently. Anyone with the url to your document has access to edit it. The odds of someone guessing your url is about 1 in 4,294,967,296, but if they find the link somewhere they will have full access.
When are you going to add feature x, y or z?

Are you trying to compete with vim, eclipse, textmate, notepad++ ...?
No. We recognize that collabedit isn't fit for 95% of what you need in a text editor. We also know that your favorite text editor doesn't work very well for that last 5%.
Which web browsers do you support?
Currently collabedit works on IE 6, IE 7 and Firefox.
