Technical Phone Interview Help
This functionality (originally introduced in June 2011) has been drastically improved upon and moved to a new site called Coding Hire.
This page will show you how to use the Technical Phone Interview features of collabedit.
First you need to add some interview questions to your account. To do this, click the Interview Setup tab.
Click the "New Question" button.
Give it a title.
Give it a body.
Add a few more questions. Ideally you should have at least 3-5 questions ready for the interview.
Go back to your dashboard and click on the "New Interview" button.
This is what you'll see. Choose the first question you would like to ask from the dropdown.
This will cause the "Begin Interview" button to become enabled. Click it.
Now the interview is in progress. At this point you need to have the interview candidate visit the same url you are viewing.
The candidate will have a slightly different view than you (see below).
When they've solved the question, you can advance to the next question by selecting it from the dropdown.
When the interview is finished, click the "Stop Interview" button. This will lock the interview, so that nobody but you can access it (the candidate will be booted from the interview). This way your questions will be safe.
If you want to review the questions, you can click them on the "Questions so Far" subpanel.
Doing this during the interview will switch the whole interview back to that question, in case you want to revisit a question with the candidate.
